Type specimen: NMMNH P18111, an other (tooth-marked clavicle of Buettneria). Its type locality is Lamy Amphibian Quarry, NMMNH Loc. 1176 (bed 7), which is in a Carnian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Garita Creek Formation of New Mexico.
