Type specimen: NMNHL RGM 443825, a skull (almost complete skull). Its type locality is Steengroeve Winterswijk, which is in an Anisian peritidal limestone in the Vossenveld Formation of the Netherlands.
Distribution: found only at Steengroeve Winterswijk
