Sister taxon: Mesophlebia antinodalis
Type specimen: PRE/F/20242, a forewing. Its type locality is Birds River (Bir 111), which is in a Carnian lacustrine - small shale in the Molteno Formation of South Africa.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Birds River (Bir 111)
