Sister taxa: Absarokius abbotti, Absarokius metoecus
Type specimen: UW 1644, a mandible (mandibular fragment with p3-m3 and alveoli anterior to p3). Its type locality is UW V-58003, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Wasatch Formation of Wyoming.
Ecology: arboreal insectivore
