Sister taxa: Dryomomys dulcifer, Dryomomys millennius, Dryomomys szalayi

Type specimen: PU 17732, a mandible (left dentary with P4, alveoli for M1, and roots of M2). Its type locality is SC-2, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.
