Sister taxa: Cimexomys antiquus, Cimexomys arapahoensis, Cimexomys gregoryi, Cimexomys hausoi, Cimexomys judithae

Type specimen: S.P.S.M. 62-2115, a maxilla (left mandible with P3, P4, and alveoli for I, M1, and M2). Its type locality is Bug Creek Anthills, which is in a Puercan terrestrial horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of Canada (2: Saskatchewan collections), United States (21: Colorado, Montana)

• Cretaceous of United States (6: Montana, Wyoming)
