Type specimen: AMNH 145526, a partial skull (left dentary fragment with p4-m3). Its type locality is Rapamys Site, Black Butte I, which is in an Uintan/Duchesnean fluvial siltstone in Montana.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Rapamys Site, Black Butte I
