Sister taxon: Oreamnos americanus

Type specimen: CIT 2028, a partial skull (parts of frontals and two horn-cores). Its type locality is Smith Creek Cave (Pinkish Silt Stratum), which is in a Rancholabrean terrestrial siltstone in Utah.

Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser

Distribution:

• Quaternary of United States (3: Colorado, New Mexico, Utah collections)

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
