Type specimen: UCMP 23611, a mandible (part of a right mandibular ramus extending from the level of the anterior margin of p4 to the basal part of the vertical ramus; m1 and m2 well preserved). Its type locality is Tecuya Canyon, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Tecuya Formation of California.
Ecology: scansorial granivore-frugivore
Distribution: found only at Tecuya Canyon
