Type specimen: F:AM 31348, a partial skull (Frontal sad- dle with horns, shaft short, heavy three-tined crotch). Its type locality is Skyline Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Barstow Formation of California.

Ecology: ground dwelling browser-grazer

Distribution: found only at Skyline Quarry
