Belongs to Yoderimys according to J. Wilson and Runkel 1991
Sister taxa: Yoderimys bumpi, Yoderimys massarae, Yoderimys stewarti
Type specimen: TMM 42153-2, a mandible (Left mandible with p4-m3). Its type locality is Coffee Cup, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Devil's Graveyard Formation of Texas.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Yoderimys yarmeri in the database
