Sister taxa: Tanius chingkankouensis, Tanius laiyangensis

Type specimen: PMU R.240, a partial skull. Its type locality is 0.6 mi. southwest of Chiangchingting, which is in a Coniacian/Santonian terrestrial horizon in the Jiangjunding Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of China (3 collections)

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
