Sister taxon: Claosaurus affinis

Type specimen: YPM 1190, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Smoky Hill River (YPM 1190), which is in a Coniacian/Santonian marine shale in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Smoky Hill River (YPM 1190)
