Type specimen: USNM 9352. Its type locality is Colony Cliffs, which is in a Tortonian offshore shelf claystone in the St Marys Formation of Maryland.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Colony Cliffs
