Type specimen: ChM PV5401, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Martin Marietta Berkeley Quarry, Cross Member, which is in a Bartonian shallow subtidal limestone in the Tupelo Bay Formation of South Carolina.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Martin Marietta Berkeley Quarry, Cross Member
