Type specimen: AMNH 3818, a set of vertebrae (atlas). Its type locality is Hyopsodus Hill, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Hyopsodus Hill
