Sister taxon: Meniscognathus molybrochoros

Type specimen: UCMP 46610, a mandible (complete left dentary with 13 teeth and the broken bases of 15 others). Its type locality is Lull 2 Quarry (UCMP V-5620), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
