Type specimen: AMNH 5184, a partial skull (fragmentary skull and lower jaws, with a few teeth). Its type locality is East Fork Torrejon Arroyo, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Torrejon Formation of New Mexico.

Ecology: insectivore-carnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (1: Wyoming collection)

• Paleocene of United States (7: Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming)
