Sister taxon: Stereogenys podocnemoides

Type specimen: CGM 10027, a skull. Its type locality is Beadnell Section, which is in a Priabonian coastal sandstone in the Qasr el-Sagha Formation of Egypt.

Ecology: aquatic herbivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Beadnell Section
