Sister taxa: Rhodanomys hugueneyae, Rhodanomys oscensis, Rhodanomys transiens
Type specimen: SMNS 44615/R-7 M2 sup. sin., a tooth. Its type locality is Eggingen-Mittelhart 2, which is in a MP 30/MN 1 lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Lower Freshwater Molasse Formation of Germany.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
