Sister taxa: Pareora incincta, Pareora striolata, Pareora sublaevis
Type specimen: Its type locality is Pakaurangi Point, Kaipara Harbour, which is in an Otaian coastal sandstone in the Pakaurangi Formation of New Zealand
Ecology: facultatively mobile semi-infaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Pakaurangi Point, Kaipara Harbour
