Taxonomy
Puijila darwini was named by Rybczynski et al. (2009). Its type specimen is NUFV 405, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 54th and Granville, Vancouver, which is in a Pleistocene coastal horizon in Canada. It is the type species of Puijila.
