Taxonomy
Temnodontosaurus eurycephalus was named by McGowan (1974). Its type specimen is BMNH R1157, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Broad Ledge (Bucklandi beds), which is in a Sinemurian marine limestone in the United Kingdom.
