Taxonomy
Ticinepomis peyeri was named by Rieppel (1980). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T3925, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Monte San Giorgio, point 902, unspecified layer, which is in an Illyrian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland.
