Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
D. A. Russell 1996 (Sigilmassasaurus)Apormorphies in the cervical vertebrae for the genus and family include: spines short, wider transversely than long; intercentral articulations wider than high, exceeding length of centrum in width; transverse planes through anterior and posterior intercentral articulations converge dorsally, indicating cervical series "U"-shaped in lateral aspect; parapophyses project ventrolaterally beyond rim of intercentral articulations; hypapophyses more powerfully developed in middle of cervical series than in region of cervico-dorsal transition.
