Taxonomy
Woutersia was named by Sigogneau-Russell (1983). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Woutersiidae.
It was assigned to Kuehneotheriidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Woutersiidae by Sigogneau-Russell and Hahn (1995) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
