Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria solarioides was named by Hall (1852). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Anomphalus solarioides by Pitcher (1939); it was recombined as Pycnomphalus solarioides by Whiteaves (1895) and Peel (1984).
