Taxonomy
Rhynchonella clesiana was named by Lepsius (1878). It is not extant. Its type locality is Cap San Vigilio, Lago di Garda, which is in a Toarcian/Aalenian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Oolite Di San Vigilio Formation of Italy.
