F. Pujos et al. 2021Small sloth, smaller than Deseadognathus and comparable to Hapalops; lower caniniform tooth reduced, oval, not triangular as in Megalonychidae, and separated from the first lower molariform tooth by a well-marked diastema; the base of the symphysis is located at the level of the anterior border of the caniniform in occlusal view; the main axis of the odontoid and discoid processes of the astragalus form an angle of 160° in distal view as in Diabolotherium; the dorsal border of the head of the astragalus is located well below the discoid surface as in Hapalops; astragalus with a single articular surface for the calcaneum, corresponding to the fusion between ectal and sustentacular facets.
