Taxonomy
Tarsius eocaenus was named by Beard et al. (1994). Its type specimen is IVPP V11030, a tooth (right [lower] M1), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Shanghuang Quarry, fissure D, which is in an Eocene fissure fill limestone in China.
