Taxonomy
Eupleura was named by Adams and Adams (1853) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 700,914]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Bursa (Eupleura) by Holmes (1858).

It was assigned to Bursa by Holmes (1858); to Thaidinae by Vokes (1989); to Muricidae by Gardner (1947), Gardner (1948), Woodring (1959), Ward and Blackwelder (1987) and Todd (2001); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ocenebrinae by DeVries (2005), Herbert (2005) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
