Siratus adelosus
Taxonomy
Murex (Haustellum) adelosus was named by Vokes (1989) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene-Early Pliocene; Dominican Republic]. Its type specimen is NMB H 17000, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 16818 - Río Cano [Gurabo Fm], which is in a Zanclean reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Siratus adelosus by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
