It was reranked as Cheirurus (Cyrtometopus) by Reed (1906).

It was assigned to Cheirurus by Reed (1906); to Cheiruridae by Harrington and Leanza (1957) and Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
