Taxonomy
Pleurosmilia saxifisi was named by Wells (1933). It is not extant. Its type locality is Brushy Creek, Round Rock, lower Buda Formation, which is in a Cenomanian shallow subtidal limestone in the Buda Limestone Formation of Texas.
