Blattina liasina was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Wainlode Cliff (Brodie collection), which is in a Rhaetian marine sandstone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Blattidium liassinum by Heer (1864); it was recombined as Rithma liasina by Scudder (1886); it was recombined as Caloblattina liasina by Handlirsch (1906), Cockerell (1915) and Vršanský (2020).
