Taxonomy
Phyllopsora dominicanus was named by Rikkinen and Poinar (2008). Its type specimen is Poinar B 1–23, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Poinar coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
