Taxonomy
Plesiochelys kwanganensis was named by Yeh (1963). Its type specimen is IVPP V997,, a carapace (Almost complete shell with articulated carapace and plastron), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hsi-ta-Chai, which is in a Jurassic marine horizon in China.
