Taxonomy
Pedrolypeutes praecursor was named by Carlini et al. (1997). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Duke Locality 4 (La Venta Fauna), which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Colombia. It is the type species of Pedrolypeutes.
