Palaeophora ancestrix
Taxonomy
Archiphora ancestrix was named by Rohdendorf (1938). Its type specimen is PIN 2452/329, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karatau-Galkino (PIN collection 2452), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Palaeophora, Archiphora.
It was recombined as Palaeophora ancestrix by Rohdendorf (1951) and Nagatomi and Yang (1998).
