Mongolestes alxaensis
Taxonomy
Harpagolestes alxaensis was named by Qi (1975). Its type specimen is IVPP V4940, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lügenzhadagai; IVPP Loc. 74096, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Chaganbulage Formation of China.
It was recombined as Mongolestes alxaensis by Jin (2005).
