Taxonomy
Eorhynchochelys sinensis was named by Li et al. (2018). Its type specimen is SMMP 000016, a skeleton (articulated specimen displaying the postcranium in dorsal view, and the skull in ventral view), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baiyuncun of Xinpuxiang, which is in a Carnian coastal marl in the Falang Formation of China.
