Taxonomy
Lingula aoraki was named by Campbell (1987). It is not extant. Its type specimen is OU 17594, a valve. Its type locality is JGM 171, Otamita Valley (F45/f090), which is in a Ladinian marine horizon in the Pears Formation of New Zealand.
