Taxonomy
Hapalops platycephalus was named by Scott (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lake Pueyrredon (Santa Cruz Formation), which is in a Santacrucian fluvial sandstone in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.
