Tricolpites asper
Taxonomy
Tricolpites asper was named by Frederiksen (1978). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Figure 1l, slide DC-13(4), coordinates 29.5 x 93.0, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-13, which is in a Paleocene marine marl in the Black Mingo Formation of South Carolina.
