It was assigned to Antilopinae by Hay (1902); to Antilope by Palmer (1904); to Bovidae by Carroll (1988); to Naemorhedini by Grubb (2001); and to Caprinae by Hodgson (1841) and Agnarsson and May-Collado (2008).
