Sphenofontis velserae
Taxonomy
Sphenofontis velserae was named by Villa et al. (2021). Its type specimen is SNSB-BSPG 1993 XVIII 4, a skeleton (a slab containing a nearly complete and articulated skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sphenofontis-type locality, which is in a Kimmeridgian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal mudstone in Germany.
