Mesopoma pancheni was named by Coates (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NMS 1983.33.7. Its type locality is Bearsden locality, which is in a Pendleian marine shale in the Manse Burn Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Trawdenia pancheni by Coates and Tietjen (2018).
