Taxonomy
Lunatisporites sellingii was named by Salujha (1965). It is not extant. Its type locality is Jaipuria Kajora Colliery, East Raniganj Coalfield, which is in a Lopingian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in India.

It was recombined as Gondwanipollenites sellingii by Bose and Maheshwari (1968) and Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
