Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
I. J. Maniel et al. 2022Prochelidella palomoi can be diagnosed as a Pleurodira by the presence of pelvic girdle attached by suture to the shell. Prochelidella palomoi is referred as a member of Prochelidella by the presence of a welldeveloped retropterygoid foramen and a strongly developed attachment muscle area of the basisphenoid as can be observed in the holotype of Prochelidella buitreraensis. Differs from Prochelidella portezuelae and Prochelidella cerrobarcinae in the extension until the posterior region of the entoplastron of the gular scute. Differs from Prochelidella buitreraensis in the angled of the foramen nervi trigemini in lateral view, and a more acute angled of the axillary buttresses.
