Obconicophycus amadeus
Taxonomy
Obconicophycus amadeus was named by Schopf and Blacic (1971). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Harvard Univ. 58579, TBS-22-4-G, coordinates 50.5/115.0 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ellery Creek, which is in a Tonian peritidal chert in the Bitter Springs Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Obconicophycus.
